News: DBP Delegations headed to Singapore for CMBS II Follow-up Program

Singapore, November 2025 – Members of the DBP Lab —Dita, Melvie, and Galank— alongside a Lecturer from Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang (UNIMUS), Aulia Seto Sandhi, participated in the crucial First-Year Retrieval of ARMS (Autonomous Reef Monitoring Structures) event held in Singapore. The delegation’s involvement spanned ten days, taking place from November 9 to November 19.

The Retrieval ARMS event serves as a critical agenda, directly following up on the comprehensive previous program: the Comprehensive Marine Biodiversity Survey (CMBS) II. The CMBS II program itself is designed as an ambitious marine biodiversity conservation and survey initiative set to run for the next five years. The main focus of the Retrieval ARMS is to collect and analyze data from the ARMS structures that were previously deployed, which are used to monitor the colonization of marine invertebrates on the seafloor.

Seto Sandhi, the UNIMUS Lecturer accompanying the team, stated that active participation in regional programs like this is vital for enriching the body of Indonesian maritime knowledge. The participation of Dita, Melvie, and Galank, representing young researchers and students, is also expected to serve as a bridge for the transfer of the latest knowledge and technology in marine biodiversity survey methods. From this moment, we hope the Lab DBP members can absorb and apply the new knowledge gained in Singapore.
